The Role

CommerceHub is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to join our Center of Excellence team. In this role, you will be involved with developing, improving, and maintaining the automation and tooling for our AWS Cloud Infrastructure covering many AWS services and technologies. Your areas of responsibility will be broad and may cover service evaluations, prototyping, monitoring & metrics, troubleshooting, performance and scalability improvements, deployment automation, and security. Working with others in the organization, you will help develop and influence tooling, best practices, and standards that empower the engineering organization and help ensure CommerceHub's effective and efficient operations.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Evangelize cloud adoption within the organization
  • Provide consultation, guidance, and support across existing and emerging cloud technologies
  • Design highly resilient and available cloud architectures using proven cloud frameworks and tools
  • Adopt and determine reference architectures and implementations using cloud technologies
  • Provide oversight on cloud adoption and usage
  • Solve complex technical issues involving multiple technology stacks
  • Provide documentation and training to other Engineering stakeholders

About You

  • You have a Bachelor's Degree, or higher, in Computer Science or related field OR at least 5 years related professional experience. 
  • Preferred AWS certifications
  • 2+ years of experience with Linux
  • Experience in containerization and management tools such as ECS, EKS, Swarm or Kubernetes
  • Experience with common AWS services such as Lambda, SNS, SQS, EC2
  • Experience leveraging triggers and events in AWS
  • Experience in at least 1 programming language (python preferred)
  • Experience with continuous integration, continuous delivery, desired state processes, tools, and constraints
  • AWS based concepts for building highly available and fault tolerant architectures (cross-az, cross-region)
  • An understanding of base network stack (IPv4, Routing, DNS, DHCP)
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making and problem solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work in a rapidly changing environment with keen attention to detail
