The Role

This position will work with the ecommerce Growth Services (EGS) Account Directors, ecommerce Managers and Product Managers to manage and consult on advertising programs in search engines such as Google and Bing and marketplace advertising in Amazon and eBay, as well as emerging platforms. Requires hands-on experience in ecommerce advertising to help grow and develop strong relationships with our clients, as well as leadership skills to grow and develop the members of the EGS Team.

Specific Duties

  • Execute on the strategic e-Commerce advertising program initiatives as set by the Senior Director of EGS
  • Give feedback or pivot e-Commerce advertising initiatives on a regular basis to keep up with the pace of the industry
  • Create, document and implement best practice policies and messaging regarding e-Commerce advertising for the EGS team, customer support and onboarding
  • Serve as a first or secondary relationship manager for advertising programs with search engines and marketplaces
  • Participate and lead sales/marketing pitches and RFPs to potential new clients, working with Client Executives and Sales to educate and equip and be a resource to them
  • Work with Corporate and Product Marketing to create, edit and vet material as needed for product and service promotion
  • Act as a point of internal escalation around quality of work audits as requested
  • Monitor overall advertising book of business performance and analytics, be able to speak to specific clients, industry trends or changes as it pertains to fluctuations and make recommendations for actions using our internal data set
    • Set ad spend, performance and channel adoption goals, forecasts, KPIs, and strategies for customer brands in partnership with e-Commerce managers and account directors. Assess progress toward these goals regularly to equip EGS members with actionable information to advise their clients to act on, and to stay informed of performance
  • Work with Finance, Business Intelligence and EGS analysts to standardize reporting, KPIs and validate projects, forecasts and trends as they pertain to ecommerce advertising

Successful candidates for the position must meet the following requirements:

  • B.A./B.S degree preferred
  • 6+ years of experience managing performance based online search and/or marketplace marketing programs for a retailer or direct-to-consumer
  • Ability to lead by example, desire to grow and develop EGS teammates through positive reinforcement and constructive feedback
  • Ability to compile and analyze performance data and metrics and make decisions regarding campaign direction based on the analysis
  • Strong understanding of online marketing venues, strategies and best practices
  • Results-oriented, collaborative work style
  • High client and co-worker empathy
  • Knowledge of 3rd party campaign management tools and tracking
  • Google Ads certification (Fundamentals & Shopping)

Additionally, knowledge of and/or experience with the following is a plus:

  • Amazon Advertising program management
  • Familiarity with ecommerce analytics software to evaluate retail marketing, sales transactions, and customer data
  • Familiarity with software as a service (SaaS) business models, Web Services, and basic XML understanding a plus
  • Advanced skills in Excel
